How does billing work?

StemScriber offers three tiers: Free, Pro ($10/mo), and Premium ($20/mo). Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Stripe, the same payment processor used by Spotify, Shopify, and thousands of other platforms.

Annual plans save you roughly 33% compared to paying monthly. You can switch between monthly and annual billing at any time.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) through Stripe. Depending on your region, you may also see options for Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Link (Stripe's one-click checkout).

We do not currently accept PayPal, cryptocurrency, or direct bank transfers.

Is there a free trial or beta access?

Beta testers get full access for free. During the beta period, all features are unlocked at no cost. This lets us gather honest feedback and squash bugs before the public launch.

After the beta, the Free tier gives you 3 songs per month with 6-stem separation, practice mode, and karaoke mode -- no credit card required. If you want more songs, chord detection, or Guitar Pro export, you can upgrade anytime.

Managing Your Subscription

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, absolutely. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. There are no cancellation fees, no contracts, and no hoops to jump through.

When you cancel, your paid features remain active until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the Free tier. Your processed files and history are preserved.

How do I update my payment method?

Go to your Account Settings and click Manage Billing. This opens the Stripe Customer Portal where you can update your card, switch between monthly and annual billing, or view your invoice history.

Your card details are stored securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

Do unused songs roll over to the next month?

No, unused processing credits do not roll over. Each billing period starts fresh. If your Premium plan includes 50 songs/month and you only use 12, the remaining 38 do not carry forward.

Pro plan users have unlimited processing, so rollover doesn't apply.

Refunds & Failed Processing

How do refunds work?

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first paid subscription. If StemScriber isn't what you expected, email us within 30 days and we'll issue a full refund, no questions asked.

After the 30-day window:

  • Annual plans: Eligible for a pro-rated refund for unused full months
  • Monthly plans: No partial-month refunds (cancel anytime to stop future charges)
  • Successfully processed songs: Not refundable (the stems were delivered)

What if my song fails to process?

If processing fails due to an error on our end, your processing credit is automatically restored. You don't need to contact us or file a request -- it just happens.

If you're seeing repeated failures, it might be a file format issue. StemScriber supports MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG, and most common audio formats. Files must be under the duration limit for your plan (5 min for Free, 15 min for Premium, 30 min for Pro).
